The salmon has always been a prominent image in the Irish culture. It plays a dual roll as a symbol of Wisdom and of Christ. The sphere, as a three dimensional version of the circle represents Heaven, and the egg, rebirth. This is one of five sculptures for a prayer garden honoring the Celtic Christian spirituality. Also included in the prayer garden concept is St. Patrick (“Spirit of the Deer Cry”, St. Brendan (“Voyage of St. Brendan), St. Brigid (“Bride of the Well”), and St. Columba (“Winds of Change”).
